Artist Catherine Radix Mansell, of Westerly, will be featured in a member showcase at Rhode Island Watercolor Society (RIWS) from Saturday, June 27th to Friday, July 31st, 2020.

The show will be open Thursdays – Saturdays, 10am – 4pm each day. Mansell will exhibit 15 artworks at RIWS, located in the historic JC Potter Casino Building in Pawtucket’s Slater Memorial Park. The exhibition will include work that combines Mansell’s interests in encaustic (beeswax) painting, Asian brush painting, and mixed media. Catherine’s minimalist style reflects the natural environment and the power of abstraction. Her work is distinctive and identifiable. She often uses Chinese or Japanese ink, Chinese watercolor and wax in her paintings. Living in Maine for many summers and studying Asian brush painting there has proven to be the strongest influence on her work.
